Reflection On Interpersonal Communication - 1091 Words

1. At the start of this course, I wasn’t familiar with the concepts of interpersonal communication in an academic way. Now that I’ve been in the course, I realize that I was familiar with the concepts as they’ve occurred within my life, although these happenings didn’t have a name. Due to the fact that these concepts didn’t have a name, they weren’t fully acknowledged within my life. For example, I came into this course with a grasp of my conflicts and romantic relationship. I knew the necessities, my needs, his needs, and our areas that needed work. I also was having conflict struggles with my boyfriend’s mother and had what I thought was an understanding of the situation. However, I was struggling to navigate effectively within the†¦show more content†¦As such, I am now working to comprehend areas of conflict from a new perspective. 3. Despite all of the newfound knowledge that has been obtained during the course, it can be difficult to apply the concepts that we’ve learned to every situation that we’re faced with. I realized that even though I’d love to resolve conflicts simply with some of the tips from the textbook and lectures, applying such thinking and problem solving methods can be a challenge. Although I believed that I made an attempt to not make assumptions (particularly the assumptions of consistency and communicator independence). Although acknowledging the types of assumptions that we make and how they negatively can impact our relationships is useful, in the early stages of conflict it can be difficult to recognize that such assumptions are being made. For example, my boyfriend’s mother had made an informal agreement with me (or so I had thought it to be informal). I had told her that I would communicate with the other party involved to set a schedule. She and I had both made the assumptions of consistency and simple meaning, causing us to take words at face value without much thought or further discussion. A miscommunication ensued causing her to say some really hurtful things towards me. My boyfriend became involved and a full on feud ensued. During this time, I had refused to understand her perception of the situation allowing the assumption of communicator independence to occur. While in hindsight,Show MoreRelatedReflection On Interpersonal Communication1724 Words   |  7 Pageswhen we talked about non-verbal communication, I realized that it is impossible to not communicate. None Provided9 Essay Summary Example For Students

None Provided9 Essay Summary The meaning of Hacker is one who accesses a computer which is supposably not able to be accessed to non authorised people of the community. Hackers may use any type of system to access this information depending on what they intend on doing in the system. Hackers may use a variety of ways to hack into a system. First if the hacker is experienced and smart the hacker will use telnet to access a shell on another machine so that the risk of getting caught is lower than Ways in which the hacker will break into the system are:1) Guess/cracking passwords. This is where the hacker takes guesses at the password or has a crack program to crack the password protecting the system. 2) Finding back doors is another way in which the hacker may get access to the system. This is where the hacker tries to find flaws in the system they are trying to enter. 3) One other way in which a hacker may try to get into a system is by using a program called a WORM. This program is specially programmed to suit the need of the user. This programme continually tries to connect to a machine at over 100 times a second until eventually the system lets in and the worm executes its program. The program could be anything from getting password files to deleting files depending on The only way that you or a company can stop a Hacker is by not having your computer connected to the net. This is the only sure fire way in which you can stop a hacker entering your system. This is mainly because hackers use a phone line to access the system. If it is possible for one person to access the system then it is possible for a hacker to gain access to the system. One of the main problems is that major companies need to be networked and accessible over the net so that employees can do overdue work or so that people can look up things on that company. Also major companie s network their offices so that they can access data from different positions. One way which is used to try to prevent hackers gaining access is a program used by companies called a Firewall. A Firewall is a program which stops other connections from different servers to the firewall server. This is very effective in stopping hackers entering the system. Tho this is not a fool proof way of stopping hackers as it can be broken and hackers can get in. Tho this is a very good way of protecting your Some of the major hacks that have been committed have been done by young teens aged between 14 and 18. The demand is instigated by an increase in population, agricultural activities, industrialization and need to desalinate water. The UAE federation has enacted policies that enable the balance between supply and demand be realized. Good infrastructure of roads, airport, seaports and communication facilitate economic growth. Introduction United Arab Emirates has experienced growth in the recent past. The region is a world trade center and is popular for exporting oil. Economic activities have led to disparity in supply and demand. Changes have occurred to aid in solving the disparity. This report will discuss demand and supply in UAE. Supply and Demand in UAE Background information of UAE United Arab Emirates (UAE) consists of seven federations namely: Dubai, Umm al Quwain, Ajan, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. The region, which is in south west Asia, is arid. It is next to the coast, and part of the region is a desert. In the recent past, UAE has experienced a population increase and a rapid growth in its economy. Policies emphasize agricultural self-sufficiency and a reliable supply of water. Since the discovery of oil in Abu Dhabi, the economy was transformed leading to industrialization in the region. Policies that foster liberation of the economy have caused the region to be the economic leader in the Middle East region. UAE has adopted economic diversity. Besides oil and natural gas reserves, the region has a tourist attraction, real estate business and international trading centers located in diverse cities like in Dubai. Governmental policies boost economic diversity for a sustainable economy. Therefore, the main sources of income for UAE come from trade, tourism, construction and sell of real estate, financial services and transport. UAE infrastructure makes the region a modern center. There is a good network of roads that link the different trade centers. Among the over 40 airports in the region, the airport in Dubai is considered an international airport which facilitates business.1Advertising Looking for report on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Water demand and supply The government policies encourage growth of the agricultural sector. Since the UAE region is arid, there are a large number of wells that have been sunk. The water table has been depleted, and the water has become desalinated. A large number of desalination plants have been established to meet non- agricultural and agricultural water demands. The demand for water has increased as the population has grown. The urban centers are continually growing, and the agricultural sector requires adequate water. Importing water from Turkey has been considered not viable owing to security issues. Desalinated water, surface water, underground water and recycled water are the main sources of water in UAE. Desalinated water from the sea accounts for the water supply in the area. Increased population, industrial development and growth of the agricultural sector have increased demand for water in UAE. Despite increased supply, demand for water has not been adequately met after increased farming and developments whose consumption is higher than the supply. To curb this problem, additional plants with a large capacity for desalination have been constructed. The water deman d for construction, farming, landscaping and human consumption is high. 2 Energy demand and supply Energy demand has been on the increase. The government has funded projects that increase the supply of energy. Energy and water sectors have been privatized in the region. The challenge in the energy sector is inefficiency in power use, need for increased investments, poor regional connectivity and management in the private sector. With the growth in the real estate business, the demand for electricity is expected to increase in the future. The demand can be met, if investments to increase the supply are considered. Thermal power, natural gas and oil, have been used as sources of energy in UAE. Natural gas as a source of fuel is less costly and is considered sustainable in the near future.Advertising We will write a custom report sample on Supply and Demand in U. A. E. specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The demand for power supply is not expected to be very high as expected with the high developments in real estates. The demand will be slightly higher than the supply for power. Electricity demand will heighten owing to industrial developments and water plant projects. UAE is likely to adopt nuclear power in the future to meet the increased demand for power. Although the region is rich in oil and gas reservoirs, it may turn to alternative power sources to meet the demand for energy. Abu Dhabi accounts for most of the oil; hence other regions have a lower oil reservoir than Abu Dhabi. Energy is required to desalinate water, and there is a desire to expand electricity supply in the region. Moreover, the planners recognize the volatility of fossil fuel prices as well as the issues in the universal climate change. The hydrocarbons are more profitable and can generate huge revenues. Property demand and supply The patterns in the property market keep changing. In Dubai, the supply of property is low, and the rental cos ts have appreciated. The number of completed and ready for sale property is very low. The number of building on construction is high, and the supply is expected to rise. The number of people seeking accommodation is also high. Since the cost of purchasing property is very high, there are few buyers. The growth of the international trading center is likely to increase the number of people seeking residence. Chances of supply exceeding demand are believed to be narrow. Dubai is a fast growing economy with numerous projects and businesses absorb a large number of people. Developing nuclear plants is considered a stepping stone to meet future demand for power and as a boost to the UAE economic development. When the supply for new rentals increases, the cost of rentals is reduced. The upward momentums where prices keep increasing depreciate. Tenants have to put up with the decreased prices and continue to pay taxes that apply. Although the supply seems to meet the demand, the demand is c onstantly increasing, and the property begins to be reduced in supply as a large number of investors purchase the property. Unoccupied rentals affect the economic growth. There are plenty rentals available and construction of others is underway. UAE policies discourage foreign investors from owning property. Investor visas last for a short period and investors have to renew their visa to continue with business. If one does not have a resident visa, owning bank accounts, driving license and a car is difficult. Harsh policies are viewed as a stumbling block to the development. 3Advertising Looking for report on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Tourism demand and supply UAE significantly relies on tourism for foreign exchange. There is an increasing number of tourists visiting Dubai which is the busiest trade center in the region. Most tourists come to shop and view modern and ancient attractions of the city. The increasing number of tourist have led to a greater need for accommodation and led to increased investments. Dubai has to ensure that the demand for boutique, electronics and other goods is availed to meet the need of the tourists or buyers. Labor demand and supply UAE enjoys a supply of labor. This enables the economy to expand and to meet the demand. The demand for low skilled and semi-skilled laborers is dominant. The low skill and semi-skilled laborers enable organizations to pay minimum wages and maximize on profits. The high supply of low skilled employees may have effects on the organization on innovativeness and production. There is a high number of immigrants in the trade centers employed to work in ongoin g projects and conducting business. Labor laws and policies are very strict. Employees have for a long time been denied the freedom to change jobs. In the recent past, employees can change their jobs with the consent of their employer or former employer. Since a large number of employees are not citizens, the labor laws can be made favorable for employees to boost their motivation. Motivated employees will give increased output. In the health sector, a number of nurses have immigrated to western nations despite an increase in their salaries. Experienced nurses have found better paying jobs in the west while UAE continue to train nurses and employ the untrained nurses. After training, the experienced nurses get employment elsewhere leaving a low supply of experienced healthcare nurses.4 Factors that affect demand and supply in UAE UAE individual emirates are different regions headed by a ruler. Each emirate is autonomous in politics and economics. The federal government redistributes the revenue to the seven emirates. The emirates are diverse. A majority of the revenue is contributed by Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The government policies favor the nationals from UAE region than foreigners. The government ensures that it enables the growth of other sectors in the region besides oil sector. Dubai and Abu Dhabi international operation in oil demonstrates equal interest. The government has no debt. In UAE, there is no income tax. A well-developed network of roads and sea ports, as well as a modern airport, are the strongholds of UAE. Water and electricity supply are increased to enable trade. The marketing strategy commonly used in the Emirates is the use of commercial agents. Agents and distributors are treated as the same in UAE. The demand for products with after sale services is increasing. More customer care and maintenance personnel are being trained causing an increase in the labor market. The communication sector has also experienced increased demand. Phone lines and mobile phones are common in the region. There are well enhanced internet services in UAE, which have facilitated the growth of trade and communication. Reducing disparity in economic development expedites the region to have security; since the oil prices are highly volatile. Meeting the demand for the necessities required in development facilitates the economic growth the federation seeks to achieve. Conclusion UAE is a federation of Dubai, Umm al Quwain, Ajan, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah emirates. The regions vary in their national resources and development. Dubai and Al Dhabi have large revenue than the other regions. UAE policies redistribute wealth across the region and encourage diversity of industries. Water supply is on high demand due to the ever-growing need of water in the agricultural sector, industrial sector and human consumption. Sources of water are desalinated water, surface water, underground water and recycled water. Fresh water supply is increased i f the desalinated water is augmented to meet demand. Water wells are used in case of emergency. Enough energy is required to desalinate sea water and to enable industrial developments. Natural gas, oil and thermal power are the sources of energy. The demand for increased energy is increasing. Nuclear power energy adoption is expected to meet the power demand in the future. The demand and supply of property in UAE keeps changing. Dubai has a renowned real estate. When the supply of property is low, cost of buying property and rental prices are high. The construction is increased to meet the demand. When there is an oversupply of property, the cost of buying property and rental cost is lowered. Property demand increases as the number of tourists, laborers and the general population increase in the urban centers. Tourists come in large numbers to shop in the malls and to enjoy modern and ancient attractions in the place. There are a large number of non UAE nationals who are employed in UAE. Nurses in UAE look for employment in the western countries after gaining experience. To balance between supply and demand, the UAE federation enacts policies that encourage distribution of wealth and economic development. It has increased production of power, supply of clean water, focused on building road and airport infrastructure, enhanced communication and encouraged diversity of industries. Recommendations The supply of sustainable water is necessary for agricultural, industrial and consumption. Water supply can be increased to meet demand if many plants with greater capacity to desalinate water are constructed. Energy demand that is increasing can be met with diversity in power generation. Adoption of nuclear power will provide adequate energy for development needs in UAE. Real estate constant supply of property to meet demand will be necessary to maintain prices and meet the demand for the growing population. Laws and policies that allow non UAE nationals to invest will be relevant to encourage economic growth and meet the demand for property development. Employers should consider employing laborers with skills. The labor laws can favor the laborers to increase their motivation by allowing mobility. As a result, the demand for improved production and innovativeness will be met. You may be surprised, but writing an informal essay can be a very exciting process. If you do not know how to write an informal essay, just keep reading our manual and you will learn much information that will facilitate the process of writing. It does not mean that the informal essay cannot be persuasive, informative, or argumentative, but it is usually less formal than the original versions of these essays. In other words, it is a much more relaxed expression of the writer`s observations, research, or opinions. Although an informal essay has a pretty relaxed style, it should have a strong structure. Though both formal and informal essays express the objective opinions, an informal essay tends to be considered as more personal. In a formal essay, the writer hides his/her opinion behind the thoughts and ideas of the well-known experts, whereas in an informal essay, the aut hor communicates with the reader with the help of conversational style. How to Write an Informal Essay? Before talking about the essential peculiarities of such an essay, we need to explain what the informal writing is by its nature. Informal writing is the process that allows the writer to express his/her ideas regarding some particular issue freely and informally. In informal writing, the writer receives a wonderful opportunity to show his/her personal attitude towards the specific issue and let the audience know his or her position regarding this issue. Moreover, writing an informal essay, you should not worry about the academic style. Isn`t it great? Many students wonder, â€Å"What is the difference between the formal and informal writing?† The fundamental difference between these two types implies what words the writer uses to express his or her thoughts and how he/she uses them. Undoubtedly, different situations require different words; however, one can compare informal writing to the way the person communicates with the close people. Undoubtedly, the reduced limits of formal language give the writer many opportunities for creating a good essay. The Key Steps in Writing an Informal Essay Informal essay writing allows choosing any topic that seems interesting to you. Writing about everything you want, you have much more opportunities to express your personality and be interesting to your reader. It will be great if you choose a particular topic that is quite narrow to analyze the problem and the ways of its solving. This topic should prompt the reader to the thinking processes since it will cause a close interaction between you and your reader. If you have to choose the one from the list with informal essay topics, you have to consider the needs of your audience. What topic will be interesting to your reader? What topic is relevant? What topic will help you reveal your writing potential? Your readers may be different: your classmates, your instructor, an application officer, or a potential employer. If your instructor is your main audience, feel free to write an essay that covers all of his/her requirements and make sure it follows the standards of academic writing. I f you are writing an informal essay for an application committee, be ready to demonstrate your multifaceted personality so that they could see that you are a perfect fit for their educational institution. If you are writing for your classmates, try to make your essay spectacular. A small portion of humor is always a perfect option. Finally, if you are writing your essay for your potential employer, show your critical thinking and analytical skills along with the ability to present clear and logical arguments. Create an Outline When the good informal topic is chosen, it is time to write an outline. We assure you that creating the outline is the inevitable part of the writing process since it enables the writer to focus on the topic itself without paying attention to the meaningless details. Sometimes, it happens that even a talented and experienced writer lacks the inspiration and does not know how to start an essay.   No wonder, it is particularly important to engage the reader with the great introduction. Before introducing your topic to the reader, think about your goals. Also, you need to select your approach and find the reputed sources that will help you develop your ideas. Your introductory part should not be too long but it should contain enough background information about the issue discussed in the essay. The formal essay writing does not allow the writer to use colloquialisms, clichà ©s, and jargons in the body of the paper. When writing an informal essay, you may use these elements whenever you find it appropriate. However, you should not use the long sentences or complex formulations. Keep in mind that your reader has to enjoy when reading your essay. It would be great if you could find a way to establish the contact with your reader. You can easily do that using the right tone of your voice and the emotional color of your work. We assure you that using simple, short, and understandable sentences, as well as the right intonation, you will be able to reach your goal and create an exemplary essay. Providing the reader with the factual material, do not forget to show your personal opinion about the problem. Write a good conclusion summarizing everything that was said previously. Keep in mind that your essay should be brief, clear, and concise.   Although there are no certain limits for the length of the essay, usually, informal essays are quite short. Also, do not forget that these essays have free construction and require a way of presentation that does not fit any framework. As for the construction of the essay, the writer should have own logic and follow it. Finally, do not forget to proofread your essay. If you believe that you could have missed some mistakes, ask your friend possessing good grammar skills to assist you with fixing the errors. Tone When writing an informal essay, you can ignore the rules for formal academic writing. As such, you can easily use the pronouns I, we, you, contractions like â€Å"I`ve† or word phrases used in the everyday communications. As you can understand, informal essays have a very relaxed tone. Speaking figuratively, reading a formal essay is like listening to the professor`s lecture whereas reading an informal essay is like communicating with the friend. Audience In most cases, the essayist knows his/her audience. Keep in mind that if you want to get a good grade, the manner in which you write the essay should have a positive impact on your reader. Hopefully, out tips helped you understand how to write an informal essay. We assure you that dedicating enough time and attention to writing your essay, you will be able to reach the desired outcome and get the A+ grade. Informal Essay Format Undoubtedly, it would be incorrect to say that an informal essay should follow the rules of some specific format since in most cases, it is just an improvisation. However, choosing a specific format of writing, the writer should follow it precisely. Informal Essay Structure Perhaps, there is no a student, who would not know the essentials of the classic five-paragraph essay structure. Undoubtedly, when writing a formal essay, the students should write an introduction, body, and a conclusion. However, what is good in writing informal essays, is that the writer is not obliged to follow the specific rules. As long as the essay is interesting, it is good. Many of these essays do not even contain a thesis statement, which is obligatory in formal writing.

Morgans Raid in the Civil War

Morgans Raid in the Civil War Morgans Raid - Conflict Dates: Morgans Raid was conducted from June 11 to July 26, 1863 during the American Civil War (1861-1865). Armies Commanders Union Major General Ambrose Burnsideapprox. 40,000 men Confederates Brigadier General John Hunt Morgan2,462 men Morgans Raid - Background: In late spring 1863, with Union troops conducting the Siege of Vicksburg and General Robert E. Lees Army of Northern Virginia embarking on the Gettysburg Campaign, General Braxton Bragg sought to distract enemy forces in Tennessee and Kentucky. To accomplish this, he turned to Brigadier General John Hunt Morgan. A veteran of the Mexican-American War, Morgan had proven himself a capable cavalry leader during the early part of the war and had led several effective raids into the Union rear. Assembling a select force of 2,462 men and a battery of light artillery, Morgan received orders from Bragg directing him to attack through Tennessee and Kentucky. Morgans Raid - Tennessee: Though he happily accepted these orders, Morgan harbored a desire to carry the war into the North by invading Indiana and Ohio. Aware of his subordinates aggressive nature, Bragg strictly forbade him to cross the Ohio River as he did not wish Morgans command to be lost. Assembling his men at Sparta, TN, Morgan rode out on June 11, 1863. Operating in Tennessee, his forces began moving towards Kentucky late in the month after Major General William Rosecrans Army of the Cumberland began its Tullahoma Campaign. Seeking to aid Bragg by disrupting Rosecrans supply lines, Morgan crossed the Cumberland River on June 23 and entered Kentucky on July 2. Morgans Raid - Kentucky: After camping between Campbellsville and Columbia on the night of July 3, Morgan planned to push north and cross the Green River at Tebbs Bend the next day. Moving out, he found that the bend was guarded five companies of the 25th Michigan Infantry which had constructed earthworks in the area. Attacking eight times through the day, Morgan was unable to overwhelm the Union defenders. Falling back, he shifted south before crossing the river at Johnson Ford. Riding north, the Confederates attacked and captured Lebanon, KY on July 5. Though Morgan captured around 400 prisoners in the fighting, he was crushed with his younger brother, Lieutenant Thomas Morgan, was killed. Advancing towards Louisville, Morgans raiders fought several skirmishes with Union troops and local militia. Reaching Springfield, Morgan dispatched a small force to the northeast in an attempt to confuse the Union leadership as to his intentions. This detachment was later captured at New Pekin, IN before it could rejoin the main column. With the enemy off balance, Morgan led his main body northwest through Bardstown and Garnettsville before reaching the Ohio River at Brandenburg. Entering the town, the Confederates captured two riverboats, John B. McCombs and Alice Dean. In direct violation of his orders from Bragg, Morgan began moving his command across the river on July 8. Morgans Raid - Indiana: Landing east of Mauckport, the raiders drove off a force of Indiana militia before burning Alice Dean and sending John B. McCombs downstream. As Morgan began moving north into the heart of Indiana, the states governor, Oliver P. Morton, frantically put a call out for volunteers to oppose the invaders. While militia units quickly formed, the commander of the Department of the Ohio, Major General Ambrose Burnside, moved to shift Union forces to cut off Morgans lines of retreat south. Advancing up the Maukport Road, Morgan overwhelmed a force of Indiana militia at the Battle of Corydon on July 9. Entering the town, Morgan paroled the militiamen before seizing supplies. Morgans Raid - Ohio: Turning east, the raiders passed through Vienna and Dupont before arriving at Salem. There they burned the railroad depot, rolling stock, as well as two railroad bridges. Looting the town, Morgans men took cash and supplies before departing. Pressing on, the column entered Ohio at Harrison on July 13. That same day Burnside declared martial in Cincinnati to the south. Despite recent celebrations in response to the Union triumphs at Gettysburg and Vicksburg, Morgans raid caused widespread panic and fear across Indiana and Ohio. Passing through Springdale and Glendale, Morgan remained to the north of Cincinnati in an effort to avoid Burnsides men. Continuing east, Morgan dashed across southern Ohio with the goal of reaching West Virginia and turning south into Confederate territory. To accomplish this, he intended to re-cross the Ohio River using the fords at Buffington Island, WV. Assessing the situation, Burnside correctly guessed Morgans intentions and directed Union forces to Buffington Island. As Union gunboats moved into position, columns led by Brigadier Generals Edward Hobson and Henry Judah marched to intercept the raiders. In an effort to block the ford prior to their arrival, Burnside dispatched a local militia regiment to the island. Reaching Buffington Island late on July 18, Morgan elected not to attack this force. Morgans Raid - Defeat Capture: This pause proved disastrous as Union forces arrived during the night. With Lieutenant Commander LeRoy Fitchs gunboats blocking the river, Morgan soon found his command nearly surrounded on a plain near Portland, OH. In the resulting Battle of Buffington Island, Union troops captured around 750 of Morgans men, including his executive officer, Colonel Basil Duke, and inflicted losses of 152 killed and wounded. Morgan was able to escape with around half of his men by slipping through some nearby woods. Fleeing north, he hoped to cross the river at an undefended ford near Belleville, WV. Arriving, around 300 men successfully crossed before Union gunboats arrived on the scene. While Morgan elected to remain in Ohio, Colonel Adam Stovepipe Johnson led the rest to safety. Reduced to around 400 men, Morgan turned inland and sought to escape his pursuers. Resting at Nelsonville, the Confederates burned boats along a local canal before riding northeast. Passing through Zanesville, Morgan still sought to cross into West Virginia. Pressed by Brigadier General James Shackelfords Union cavalry, the raiders were attacked at Salinesville, OH on July 26. Badly routed, Morgan lost 364 of men in the fighting. Escaping with a small party, he was captured later that day by Major George W. Rue of the 9th Kentucky Cavalry. Though many of his enlisted men were taken to Camp Douglas near Chicago, Morgan and his officers were incarcerated at the Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus, OH. Morgans Raid - Aftermath: Though the entirety of his command was lost as a result of the raid, Morgan captured and paroled around 6,000 Union soldiers prior to his capture. In addition, his men disrupted Union rail operations across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio while also burning 34 bridges. Despite being captured, Morgan and Duke felt the raid was a success as it allowed Bragg to retreat safely while tying down thousands of Union troops which otherwise could have reinforced Rosecrans. On November 27, Morgan and six of his officers successfully escaped from the Ohio Penitentiary and returned south. Though Morgans return was lauded by the Southern press, he was not received with open arms by his superiors. Angry that he had violated his orders to remain south of the Ohio, Bragg never fully trusted him again. Placed in command of Confederate forces in eastern Tennessee and southwest Virginia, Morgan attempted to rebuild the raiding force that he had lost during the 1863 campaign. In the summer of 1864, he was accused of robbing a bank in Mt. Sterling, KY. While some his men were involved, there is no evidence to suggest that Morgan played a role. While working to clear his name, Morgan and his men encamped at Greeneville, TN. On the morning of September 4, Union troops attacked the town. Taken by surprise, Morgan was shot and killed while attempting to escape from the attackers. Selected Sources Ohio History: Morgans RaidMorgans Men Association Connor Prairie: Morgans Raid

My Hobby Essay Example for Free

My Hobby Essay Vegetable gardening as my favorite hobby Deepa George WGU February 20, 2013 Vegetable gardening as my favorite hobby Hobby is an entertaining activity which provides pleasure and recreation. It is a way of escaping from the stress and the monotony of one’s daily round of duties. Therefore, hobby is essential for the proper enjoyment of life. My favorite hobby is vegetable gardening because it provides me sense of pride, peace, and relaxation, promote healthy life style and save money on groceries. You should start gardening as your hobby because it provides you relaxation, keeps you physically healthy, and save money on grocery bills. First of all, a vegetable garden is an easy and effective way to provide a sense of pride and relaxation. I am fortunate to have a spacious backyard for the gardening. I have vegetables and crops such as peas, lettuce, greens, cabbages, root crops, squash, beans, corn, melons, cucumber, eggplant, pepper, and herbs in my garden in different seasons. Research shows that gardening promotes mental health by relieving stress and promoting a sense of accomplishment. Spending some time in the garden ease stress, keep you limber and improve your mood. Vegetable gardening is a wonderful pastime the whole family can enjoy. Allowing children to be involved in the gardening help them to develop an understanding of nature, sense of responsibility, and pride. Kids are more likely to taste vegetables they grow themselves. My five year old son is proud about our vegetable garden. He helps us with watering the plants, caring for the crop and harvesting the produce. He was extremely reluctant to eat fruits and vegetables buying from the market, but now he does not want to miss anything coming from our garden. When your daughter Sara was in my house, she enjoyed peeking under leaves in search of ripe fruits and vegetables. Hence, I am sure that she will be so happy to have her own garden. Growing your own food, build a sense of pride and satisfaction. Watching a seed sprout in front of your eyes to become food on your plate is gratifying. The commitment for garden rewards you with a feeling that you have brought something to life. It is truly exciting to go to your backyard and get a juicy, ripened tomato for a salad. Now the weather is turning warm and favorable for planting. You should make a vegetable garden with your favorite vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers and jalapeno peppers. The stores like Lowes, Home depot, and local seed stores have varieties of seeds with planting instructions. I will help you with picking out plants, preparing raised beds and containers, and fertilization of plants. I would like you to enjoy the sense of pride, accomplishment and relaxation by gardening which brings you close to nature. Secondly, planting vegetable gardening keeps you and your family healthy. It provides fresh fruits and vegetables right at your fingertips. Everybody is seriously concerned about the safety of the food available in the market. When you grow your own food carefully and organically, you do not have to worry about the contamination of the vegetables. When they grow in your backyard, you are not able to resist them, and their vitamin content will be at the highest level as you eat them straight from the garden. Thus, gardening is a simple and an easy way to promote good eating habits. Furthermore, gardening is a good outdoor exercise. Planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting require a lot of physical activity. Tending vegetable garden burns calories and uses muscles. Studies have shown that one can burn 200 to 500 calories per hour by working in the vegetable garden. The activities in the garden will give you sufficient physical exercise to keep you physically healthy and mentally alert. Finally, you will save money on groceries when you begin to stock your kitchen with fresh produce from backyard. It will help you to save money on gas you use to get to the store. To save money, you should plant smart and grow the food you like to eat. Make sure you grow a lot of vegetables that you use regularly. Since you like the salad, you should plant plenty of salad greens to save money. You can preserve the produce and enjoy the goodness of fruits and vegetables long after the harvest is over. There are four common ways to preserve foods: canning, freezing, drying, and pickling. Last year, I preserved beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrot and sweet corn and used for the rest of the year. You can share the extra vegetables with your friends, or sell in the fresh vegetable market. Every year I donate extra vegetables to a food pantry, and it helped me to take the tax deduction for non-cash distributions. You can save the seeds from the best produces, and use for next year. Gardening is an investment that offers a good return. For example, I have spent two dollar for one packet of green bean seeds. Once I cover the cost of soil, fertilizers, and water, I got a return of around seventy five dollars. I suggest you to start gardening as your hobby that produces positive economic return. Conclusively, vegetable gardening provides relaxation by getting a person outside and exposing to natural air. Planning a garden and caring for the garden help the person to stay healthy and save money. For all these reasons, I encourage you to choose vegetable gardening as your hobby.

parenting Essay -- essays research papers

There are some grounds to assume that a cognitive dissonance is involved in feeling that children are more a satisfaction than a nuisance. Why do people bother with parenting? It is time consuming, exhausting, strains otherwise pleasurable and tranquil relationships to their limits. Still, humanity keeps at it: breeding. It is the easiest to resort to Nature. After all, all living species breed and most of them parent. We are, all taken into consideration, animals and, therefore, subject to the same instinctive behaviour patterns. There is no point in looking for a reason: survival itself (whether of the gene pool or, on a higher level, of the species) is at stake. Breeding is a transport mechanism: handing the precious cargo of genetics down generations of "organic containers". But this is a reductionist view, which both ignores epistemological and emotional realities – and is tautological, thereby explaining something in terms of itself. Calling something by a different name or describing the mechanisms involved in minute detail does not an explanation make. First hypothesis: we bring children to the world in order to "circumvent" death. We attain immortality (genetically and psychologically – though in both cases it is imaginary) by propagating our genetic material through the medium of our offspring. This is a highly dubious claim. Any analysis, however shallow, will reveal its weaknesses. Our genetic material gets diluted beyond reconstruction with time. It constitutes 50% of the first generation, 25% of the second and so on. If this were the paramount concern – incest should have been the norm, being a behaviour better able to preserve a specific set of genes (especially today, when genetic screening can effectively guard against the birth of defective babies). Moreover, progeny is a dubious way of perpetuating one's self. No one remembers one's great great grandfathers. One's memory is better preserved by intellectual feats or architectural monuments. The latter are much better conduits than children and grandchildren. Still, this indoctrinated misconception is so strong that a baby boom characterizes post war periods. Having been existentially threatened, people multiply in the vain belief that they thus best protect their genetic heritage and fixate their memory. In the better-educated, higher income, low infant mort... ...en, he develops a circle of admirers, cronies and friends which he "nurtures and cultivates" in order to obtain Narcissistic Supply from them. He overvalues them (they are the brightest, the most loyal, with the biggest chances to climb the corporate ladder and other superlatives). But following some anti-narcissistic behaviours on their part (a critical remark, a disagreement, a refusal, however polite, all constitute such behaviours) – the narcissist devalues all these previously over-valued individuals. Now they are stupid, lack ambition, skills and talents, common (the worst expletive in the narcissist's vocabulary), with an unspectacular career ahead of them. The narcissist feels that he is misallocating his resources (for instance, his time). He feels besieged and suffocated. He rebels and erupts in a serious of self-defeating and self-destructive behaviours, which lead to the disintegration of his life. Doomed to build and ruin, attach and detach, appreciate and depreciate, the narcissist is predictable in his Death Wish. What sets him apart from other suicidal types is that his wish is granted to him in small, tormenting doses throughout his anguished life.

The Beauty of Chinese Poetry

Chinese poetry is considered to be some of the most beautiful poetry in the world. In the poem â€Å"In Early Summer Lodging in a Temple to Enjoy the Moonlight† by Po Chu-I the author’s use of nature, the city of Ch’ang-an, and his friendship with the others that join him is truly a symbol of balance from Chinese culture. In this poem Po Chu-I discusses the destruction of beauty and the loss connection with its boundaries. His use of words paints a picture of a beautiful scene that would capture the imagination of any reader. Is Po Chu-I’s poem a clear reflection of Taoism’s views of balance? In this poem Po Chu-I uses nature to reflect the beauty that is missing in the city that he and his friends now live in. In one example, â€Å"When the wind has stolen the shadows of new leaves and birds linger on the last boughs the bloom†¦Ã¢â‚¬ the author’s use of nature allow the reader to know that it is early summer when him and his friends go on this journey outside of the city. Also, another example, â€Å"And the South-East was still clothed in red†¦Ã¢â‚¬ the author’s use of words along with nature allows the reader to know that it is sunset. With simple use of nature the author has let you know where this takes place, what time of year it is and time of day. Po Chu-I use of nature is a key element of this poem and shows the beauty of nature to the reader. In the city of Ch’ang-an the author and his friends have been trying to get rich and have decided to take a break and leave the city and go to the temple of Tao. In this poem the city represents the destruction of nature and a place where they feel unfulfilled. One example of this is: â€Å"In Ch’ang-an, the place of profit and fame, Such moods as this, how many men know? The author refers to this as a comparison of the city to the beauty of the nature that has been destroyed by the city life. Po Chu-I used the city as the opposite of nature, he even explains how the city is separated from the nature with a gate. Ch’ang-an is a symbol of the unfulfilled happiness that the author and his friends are feeling by living in the city. The friendships tha t Po Chu-I show in this poem are clear to the reader. â€Å"Till day broke we sat in her clear light laughing and singing, and yet ever grew tired†¦Ã¢â‚¬ is a good example of the author’s friendships that he has and how they all traveled out into nature to sing and dance under the moonlight. It shows the connection that the author and his friends share with one another. A similar example â€Å"To the western cloister we carried our jar of wine; while we waited for the moon, out cups moved slow†¦Ã¢â‚¬ The author and his friends all share this common bond of being unfulfilled living in the city, and all travel outside of the city to bask in nature, share a drink or two, and dance under the moonlight. This is an example of nature and the city being connected by the authors’ friendships. In the poem â€Å"In Early Summer Lodging in a Temple to Enjoy the Moonlight† Po Chu-I used many techniques to connect the ideas of Taoism into his poem. He incorporated nature, friendship, and the city of Ch’ang-an. All of these techniques helped to create a poem that not only appeals to the imagination of the reader but also the complex problems of feeling unfulfilled with a disconnection with nature. Po Chu-I used all these techniques and created a perfect balance between nature, city living, and friendship. This conveys the balance that is taught in Taoism in Chinese culture.

Change in Indian Family

Change in the Family structure and Familial relation in India. Introduction Family structure is the way that a household or a family is set up. It is different for every family as families may have single parents, may have both parents or may have step parents involved. The family is a basic unit of society. The study of the change in the family structure in India is quite complex. With the increase in the urbanization and industrialization, the concept of the family in India, which once created and maintained a common culture among the members of the family, is undergoing change. The family life or the family structure has remained the integral part of the Indian Society with the spirit of family solidarity. For generations, India has had a prevailing tradition of the joint family system. Usually the oldest male member of the family is the head of the joint Indian Family system. He is the one who makes all the important decisions of the family. After the urbanization and the economic development of the country, India has witnessed a break up of traditional joint family into more nuclear like family.Cohen, Yebudi A, in his book â€Å"Shrinking Households†, he said that households have reputedly been shrinking in size for ten thousand years or more , right up to the present , and this is a result of an evolving technology that requires fewer co-operating people to secure food, rear children and look after them. The Objective of Study The specific objective of this study is to understand the change in family structure in India and its familial relationship.

Germans Are Animal Lovers More than 80 percent of Germans describe themselves as animal lovers, even if significantly fewer German households include a pet. The most popular pets are cats, followed by guinea pigs, rabbits, and in fourth place, dogs.  A 2014 Euromonitor International study found that 11.5 million cats were living in 19% of German households in 2013 and 6.9 million dogs were living in 14% of households. Other German pet populations were not mentioned, but we do know that Germans spend about 4 billion euros ($4.7 billion) a year on all their pets. Thats a lot in a population of   86.7 million. The Germans willingness to spend big on pets is a reflection of the pets increasing importance as companions at a time when single-person or small households in Germany are growing at nearly 2 percent a year, resulting in increasingly isolated lifestyles. And Their Pets Are Beloved Companions Pets are considered beloved companions that enhance their owners’ well-being and quality of living, said Euromonitor. Dogs, which enjoy a high status and high profile among pets, are also viewed as supporting their owners’ fitness and health and as helping them to reconnect with nature on their daily walks.   The ultimate German dog is probably the German shepherd. But the very popular breed that has won the Germans heart seems to be the cute Bavarian dachshund, typically named Waldi. These days, Waldi is also a popular name for baby boys, and the dachshund, in the form of a small bobblehead toy in the rear window of a good many German cars, is a symbol of the countrys Sunday drivers. Waldi, the Name and the Olympic Mascot But in the 1970s, dachshunds were synonymous with the rainbow-hued dachshund Waldi who, as the first official Olympics mascot, was created for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, the capital of Bavaria. The dachshund was not chosen so much for this accident of geography but supposedly because it possessed the same qualities as a great athlete: resistance, tenacity, and agility. At the 1972 Summer Games, even the marathon route was designed to resemble Waldi.

Aufderheide, Defining the documentary Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Aufderheide, Defining the documentary - Essay Example Documentaries take the form of an analytical argumentation combined with some educational animation and formal elements. The formal choices in documentaries make them more representative of the importance the content they show. Documentaries lack the natural representation as they are characterized by manipulation of content so as to shape the meaning around what the audience want to know. Documentaries share the narrative convention. They are based on stories with an introduction, body and end. They invest in taking their viewers into an emotional journey by sharing the perspectives of the documentary characters with that of the audience. They also share techniques employed in filmmaking such as editors, musicians, digital designers, cinematographers and sound technicians. Documentaries are governed by the economic context of business realities. Producers strive to make documentaries more appealing to the viewers in order to ensure that the documentary gains audience. This is because the appeal of the documentary is associated with the brand identity of the product in the documentary. Furthermore, sponsors such as the government affect the reality present in the documentaries by encouraging some aspects of the content while discouraging

Negotiation Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 7

Negotiation - Essay Example This study employed the dual-concern model in order to carry out the research objective. Dual-concern model is widely used theoretical model of conflict resolution styles and has considered by many researchers in their studies. This conflict resolution model has linked with the two frequently used variables of intercultural research such as individualism-collectivism and masculinity-femininity. Dual-concern model has two main dimensions. The first dimension includes the concern for the individual own outcome and the second dimension involves the concern for outcomes of others. These two dimensions of this model give way to four basic styles of conflict resolution process. These four basic styles are avoidance, accommodation, competition and collaboration. Avoidance is basically a strategy people adopt to go the conflict unsettled or allow others to resolve the problem. In this model, avoidance has low in concern for both self and others. Accommodation is basically sacrificing owns goal in order to fulfill the necessity of others. This style of resolving conflicts is low in concern for self but high in concern for others. Competition is mainly a win-lose style. It is an attempt to fully benefit own self while forget about others therefore competition is high in concern for self but low in concern for others. Collaboration is categorized as win-win proposition. This style has high in concern for self and for others as well. Individual who are collaboration oriented will resolve the conflict if really exists in a way that both the parties are equally satisfied and compensated. People belong to individualism culture consider themselves as a distinctive body. The people belongs from this culture are highly in concern for satisfying their own personal needs. However the people from collectivism culture are totally in contrast to individualism. They are not self oriented people. They

Behaviorism And Constructivism

Behaviorism And Constructivism This research will focus on the overlapping relationship between two important theories, which are behaviorism and constructivism in the teaching field. The effective method in applying them in teaching English as a second language in foreign environment. The constructivism study of 417 students in china which examine its applicability. The behaviorism study that represents its affect on teaching and learning. My teaching experience with second grade students with Arabic background and their achievement in language acquisition. Academic learning requires conscious effort and much practice in composing, developing, and analyzing ideas. Literature Review In the Second Language Classroom Reading: A Social Constructivist Approach (Lianrui Yang, 2006), was mainly about constructivism theory and the best way in applying it to learn ESL. The key points were concerned about how to read in a constructivist way to take a strategic approach to develop effective reading. The paper shed a light on the important of social learning, and its purpose is to ask the right question to become independent readers. The A Comparison of Two Theories of LearningBehaviorism and Constructivism as applied to Face-to-Face and Online Learning (Dr. Mary Anne Weegar, 2012), which pointed to the Skinnerian behavior theory in learning. Behavior is predicted and controlled according to Watson, who considered the inventor of this science. The role of instructional technology in teaching and learning and its influence on understanding. The paper discussed the comparison between behaviorism and constructivism in different aspects. In the behaviorism chapter three in Learning Theories (Schunk, 1991), the theory was a leading one in the past, which considered a psychological one. Behaviorist approach is to conduct careful analysis of material to be learned: break it down into its smallest component and pieces, put them in a sequence so more complex ideas are built out of simpler one. Incorporate effective reinforcement: identify positive (and possibly negative) reinforces and provide them in a systematic and timely way. Use objective measures of learning to track progress. The school system used to have certain conditioning behavior with certain reinforcement also, Skinner focused on expected responses. The chapter enhanced the importance of positive enforcement instead of negative enforcement. The book of Learning Theories (Schunk, 1991) discussed the constructivism in chapter six, which reflect the theory on teaching and learning process. This theory has been developed by two important theorist who is Piaget and Vygotsky, who have been discussing in details the cognitive and psychological sides of this theory. Constructivism as a paradigm or worldview posits that learning is an active, constructive process. The learner is an information constructor who will build his own knowledge according to the basic one he has. People actively construct or create their own subjective representations of objective reality. New information is linked to prior knowledge, thus mental representations are subjective. The research of Effect of Questions and Test-Like Events on Achievements and On-Task Behavior in Classroom Concept Learning Presentation (Mckenzie) has focused on an experience of choosing fifty-one students and divide them into two groups. The paper was concerned about question controlled and addresses each individual at a time. The students were exposed to oral questions as stimuli. The paper concentrated on test-like environment more than ordinary classroom, were verbal question play a certain behavior, which allow the teacher to monitor the students achievement. The core of this study is to enhance the learning process. The article of An investigation into the factors affecting the use of language learning strategies by Persian EFL learners (Mohammad Rahimi, 2008), discusses the different teaching a second language strategies. In the study there has been a data collected from 196 students to examine their understanding of the language and discover the weakness. The research points out to the importance of motivation in language learning; also it presses the importance of integrated curriculum with language acquisition. Introduction English language considered the second official language in Saudi Arabia because its the language of science and has been used in business, governmental circles and affairs. There have been a number of negotiations on what is the proper age to learn English as a second language; hence they reached to solution that is the proper age to learn English is 4th grade. Thus, the privet schools have different curriculum and system which is teaching English since kindergarten. T A second language acquisition in a different environment considered a hard job on both teacher and student, while you only expose to English for one or two periods per day. The behaviorism was concerning about conditioning and learning by behavior influence. There has been different methods and theories discussed to improve the education process. Different studies and researches prove a number of methods and philosophies and the teacher work is to define what is appropriate to her/his class. Behaviorism Behaviorism considered an old psychological theory goes back to 1880, and had been started at laboratory which examines behaviors. Then, Watson in 1913 was responsible for the movement towards behaviorism and away from functionalism. This publication was a study of the relationship between organisms and their environment (Overskeid, 2008). In addition, Skinner came an used Watson findings, and apply them on humans behavior, he tried to condition the human behavior by reinforcing the positive stimulus in order to have the required responses. Skinner expressed no interest in understanding how the human mind functioned. He was a behaviorist in the strictest sense as was John Watson. Both Skinner and Watson were only concerned with how behavior is affected by external forces (Dr. Mary Anne Weegar, 2012). The behaviorist theory riles mostly on generalization, reinforcement, rewarding and conditioning. Imitation plays a great role in behaviorist classroom, specifically through verbal learning. There has been a movement against behaviorism especially at the ends of 1960, when Noam Chomsky, who is linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, logician, proved the inefficiency of Skinners Grammatical theory, which led to the ends of behaviorism. The beams of behaviorism still affect the education process even if it is not directly. The child developed knowledge is an important to build ones character is by providing him with the right education. B. F. Skinner pointed to that learning due to the change of reinforcement, responses, and stimulus. According to Schunks behaviorism chapter, in which he discusses Behaviorism is a worldview that operates on a principle of stimulus-response. (Schunk, 1991). All behavior caused by external stimuli (operant conditioning). All behavior can be explained without the need to consider internal mental states or consciousness. In addition, behaviorism is kind of related to John Locke theory which is that the mind is blank slate. Construcutivism As a response to instructive approaches such as behaviorism and programmed instruction, constructivism states that learning is an active, contextualized process of constructing knowledge rather than acquiring it. Knowledge is constructed based on personal living experiences and hypotheses of the environment. Each person has a different interpretation and construction of knowledge process. (Constructivism, 2012). In the article of Second Language Classroom Reading: A Social Constructivist Approach, you will find the transformation of the educational method in the classroom which has been moved from behaviorism to constructivism. The introduction of the article has discussed this transition, thus it highlighted the social constructivism in which learners are active constructor at their learning environment. The article discussed learning English in a different environment such as Chinese learners. Vygotsky, the father of social constructivism, claimed that learning occurs through dialogue (Vygotsky, 1978). The importance of reading to language teachers and the role of constructivist teacher is to assist the students during their learning process. The role of teacher is to build independent readers inside their students and enable them to ask themselves the questions. The students should interpret the text into their own meaning without the help of the teacher. According to the constructivist, the learning is an active process and as knowledge would be constructed more and more. Learning is kind of personal interpretation toward thing around us. Frankly, constructivism is emphasizing the problem solving and other things. Social learning means that you have to share knowledge and construct learning with group. The teacher would deal with the students in the classroom and there he/she will discuss the objectives and goals with the students. In addition, the teacher role is to moderate the knowledge. Environment is playing a great role in the constructivist class, and the students should expose to things that help them learn. The epistemological notion of constructivism is that the person constructs understanding through different learning principles. In addition the metaphysics notion of constructivism that the body of knowledge isnt fixed, thus it is dynamic changing. Constructivism comes from a cognitive and rationalism paradigm. The teacher plays a subjective role, it rely on what he represents. The students, according to the constructivist class, are playing a great role, in which they will be the knowledge learner, seeker, creator, and team member. The instructor would be presented as a facilitator of the knowledge, coach, and he should always motivate them. Cognition is based on mind constructivism; the mind is providing ideas and constructs it in several ways. The cognitive Schemata, has its effect on the learner ability to construct knowledge and interpret information and data. It is a mental process, where information takes place in the mind. The use of brain schemata is to assess our previous knowledge, and construct knowledge depending on the ideas we get from the environment. The brain is hard wired and the mind has a memory capacity and it has an internal structure that makes it perform in certain way. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦We must immediately expand our vision beyond standard educational institutions. In our cultures of today and of tomorrow parents, peers, and media play roles at least as significant as do authorized teachers and formal schoolsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦if any clichà © of recent years ring true, it is the acknowledgment that learning must be lifelong. Howard Gardner Applying multiple intelligences method to reach different type of students as a sub-part of constructivism. Multiple intelligence has been noticed by Howard Gardener, who impresses on valuing all kind of intelligences. Constructivism and multiple intelligences are two sides for one coin, there is a kind of correlation between them in teaching and learning process. Gardner has written several books about the different kinds of intelligences to address both teachers, students, peers, etc.. to develop a better teaching and learning method. The article of an investigation into the factors affecting the use of language learning strategies by Persian EFL learners, has reached to the finding that strategy use is a complex with the different variable of students learning ability. The result of the research shows that context of the language learning plays important role in understanding the language. For example, certain aspects of learners strategic behavior such as their perceived use of metacognitive and social strategies appear to have been influenced by the teaching approach adopted in the Iranian EFL classrooms (Mohammad Rahimi, 2008). In this Table: ANOVA results for effect of sensing vs. intuitive learning style on cognitive, metacognitive and social strategies use (N = 196) (Mohammad Rahimi, 2008). Also, shows that the use of different learning strategies will help the learner of second language to understand and build their own knowledge. Throughout my teaching years, especially teaching 3rd grade Arabic students and teach them a second language such as English, I need to provide them with the best methodology to acquire the knowledge. Constructivism has its affect in building the knowledge, especially that students have been exposed to English for only ninety minutes per day. Through these minutes they have to do different tasks, starting from listening, reading, writing, to speaking. In the past, teaching was colored with behaviorism in it approach, in which the teacher has to give them the information step by step and they have to follow the teacher rules. In the mean time, teaching and learning goes into transformation from behaviorist approach to constructivist one. In the constructivist class students can use their intelligence and build the words according to the phoneme sound they have learned today. The students have a great role in my class, they dont just repeat what I say, in the contrary they build their own words and throughout the conversation with their peers and me, they build new words and explore new knowledge to construct. The responsiveness the students of learning a second language in behaviorist and constructivist classroom. The students in the behaviorist class room would feel little bit jammed into a stereo type situation where the teacher steer the wheel and they have to follow without interruption. It is totally different from the constructivist classroom in which they have the total freedom to lead their own mind where ever they want. The teachers role here is more about how they deliver the knowledge and how the students construct the knowledge. Conclusion At the conclusion, as teacher we believe that students are the only ones who do the actual learning. The improvement of teaching second language with constructivism method has been noticed all over the years. I believe that the teacher job is to be facilitators to knowledge which will be grown and burst into her/his own students.
